While the battle may have lasted longer than expected, Night Raid came out victorious and are now making their way back to base. While Najenda may be disappointed that they couldn't eliminate Esdeath, and while it won't be the last time they'll have to face her again, but for now she's happy to see her friends safe and sound, more than anything else. Meanwhile Leone can only tease Tatsumi with all that has happened, all the while leaving him in an awkward up-close stance with her (and her breasts) and Akame. On one hand, Leone continuously thanks him for being the hero and coming to her and Akame's rescue (a real knight in shinning armour as she calls him), but she also reminds him of his awkwardness while sitting next to their mortal enemy, while rudely not even taking a sip of his tea. What's more, Leone also jokes about his chivalry in another way, as it was Tatsumi himself who surprisingly convinced everyone to spare Esdeath's life when they had the chance to take her out. Any normal person would've, but as Tatsumi had pointed out, Esdeath could also have killed both Leone and Akame at any time and be rid of their threat to the Empire, and yet she didn't. Leone comments that Tatsumi's too soft for his good, but that it also makes him the heroic sweetie that he is. Saving the life of even his mortal enemy isn't something most people would do, but then again, this'll give Akame and Leone another chance at payback for the next time that they fight, and this time to the death. All's well that ends well for now, right?
