Later on, Sakura crossed paths with Naruto who had joined the war after mastering control of the Nine Tails chakra. Naruto looked in shock at Sakura's wooden face and could not believe what had happened to his friend. In his Nine Tails Chakra Mode, Naruto was able to sense all the pain that Sakura was feeling. Sakura begged Naruto to destroy her to prevent her from killing anyone else. Despite this, Naruto couldn't bring himself to kill one the closest friends he ever head. Instead he vows to find a way to free Sakura from Sasori's control. Naruto informed everyone to stay away and let him deal with Sakura. He creates a shadow clone to destroy Sasori while the real Naruto keeps Sakura occupied.

Ngl, as a One Piece Fan, this idea actually does remind me from late in the series.
